The Wafi Mall shopping center is less known to many tourists. The reason that the Wafi Mall is unknown to many people is mainly due to its location far from the famous tourist attractions of Dubai. Still, the Wafi Mall is definitely worth a visit, especially due to the unique appearance of the mall. The Wafi Mall is built entirely in Egyptian style and can be recognized from the outside by its 3 pyramid-shaped atrium roofs, the colored glass and the many statues of Egyptian figures. Once inside, the shopping center continues to impress with its ancient Egyptian-inspired colonnades and beautiful staircases.
In the Wafi Mall you will find more than 200 stores with an exclusive range of international fashion brands, exclusive jewelers and a wide range of chic restaurants. Next to the shopping mall is the “The Pyramids” wellness center where you can relax after a day of shopping. The children have also been thought of, on the 3rd floor you will find the Encounter Zone, a place where children can have fun in Disney World, flight simulators and roller skating rinks.
The Khan Murjan Souk in the Wafi Mall
Part of the Wafi Mall is the Khan Murjan Souk which is built entirely in style from the 14th century. The souk is located two floors underground and can be reached by the entrance in the middle of the roundabout. The roundabout with garden in front of the main entrance of the Wafi Mall. The entrance of this special souk is easily recognized by the two camels next to the door. The Khan Murjan Souk consists of about 150 stores where you can buy many different items.
The highlight of the souk is the glass mosaics in the ceiling, which are one of the largest glass mosaics in the world. A team of artists spent months making these glass mosaics.
Light and Sound Show
Every evening, the facade of the Wafi Mall is transformed into a large screen. A unique light and sound show is projected. The show regularly changes composition, but is always dedicated to Egyptian culture. During the show, still and moving images are projected onto the walls and pyramids of the Wafi Mall, assisted by a music show. The Light and Sound Show can be viewed every evening at 9:30. Each evening there is only one show, so don’t miss it!
Where can I find the Wafi City Mall in Dubai?
The Wafi Mall is easiest to reach by the metro. The shopping center is located a few minutes walk from the Dubai Health Care City metro station, this metro station is on the green line. See our metro in Dubai page for more information about the metro.
With your own transport you can easily reach the Wafi Mall thanks to its location on Sheik Zayed Road. You can park in the parking garage of the shopping center, where 1000 parking spaces are available. Parking is free on Friday and Saturday. Paid parking is from Sunday to Thursday. The first hour is free regardless of the day of parking, after that parking costs 10 AED per hour.
Are you on the road for a day with the Big Bus Dubai? Then you can easily reach the Wafi Mall with the Big Bus bus ride. The Wafi Mall is stop number 1 on the red “City Tour” route and the red route starts at the shopping center. The extra excursion from the Big Bus: Dubai to the Flamingo Lagoon Excursion also starts at the Wafi Mall.
