Dubai loves big, bigger and biggest. The emirate in the Middle East already has the tallest building in the world, the most expensive hotel in the world, the largest indoor amusement park in the world and the world’s largest indoor virtual reality park. The VR Park can be found on the 2nd floor of the largest mall in the world, the Dubai Mall.
The park combines augmented reality (AR) with virtual reality (VR). This in combination with attractions and roller coasters you get the ultimate experience with the VR glasses. To make the attractions as lifelike as possible, they did everything they can. So, they purchased the rights of the zombie series The Walking Dead, the adventure film The Mummy and the thriller John Wick. The entire complex seems to have been converted into one large film set and many of the attractions are really coming to life thanks to the sounds, smells and temperature differences.
Attractions
In the 7000 square meter VR park there are 21 different attractions that you can enter. The attractions are spread over two floors and has something for everyone. There are horror attractions but also multi player attractions, race simulations where you can crawl into the driver seat or make a lifelike jump from the 828 meter high Burj Khalifa with the Burj Drop attraction.
You can also make a virtual bus tour through Dubai with VR Bus, view Dubai in 2050 with the Dubai Drone. You can take a trip to space with Robocom, make a parachute jump over Dubai, shoot mummies in The Mummy Prodigium Strike. Beside that you can also go for a ski tour through a winter sports area with VR Sport or a trip to the North Pole complete with polar bears and whales.
Tickets VR Park Dubai
Entrance to the VR Park is free, but you must pay to use the different VR attractions. The prices of the attractions vary from 15 to 45 dirham. (+/- 4 to 12,50 dollar. The exact prices depend on the exchange rate) You can also opt for two different packages. First, there is the “Silver Package” where you get 100 credits and free access to the arena. Beside to the silver ticket, there is also a “Gold Package” for 200 dirham, which gives you access to seven different experiences and you save 40% on credits.
