Souk Madinat / Madinat Jumeirah is one of the most beautiful shopping center in Dubai. The compact shopping center is built entirely in traditional Arabic style and is part of the Madinat Jumeirah complex. In Madinat Jumeirah you ca also find a couple of luxury 5 star resorts, several restaurants and cafes that are combined with many water canals and greenery.
Madinat Jumeirah is located near the well-known hotel, the Burj al Arab. This luxurious hotel with its typical shapes can be seen in large parts of the Madinat Jumeirah complex. The beautiful Arabian style of Souk Madinat, provides a beautiful view and unique photo moments. Especially in the evening the view of the Burj al Arab is wonderful here.

The shopping center Souk Madinat offers a diverse range of shops which are mainly focused at tourists. If you are looking for Arab products, carpets, local clothing or typical souvenirs such as water pipes, lamps and sculptures, you’ve come to the right place. If your are walk around you get a nice feeling, you are welcome to experience the old Arabic style and their own regional products.
In the shopping center you also have the opportunity to have a chat and a drink in the various cafes end restaurants. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants in particular along the waterways where a large number of international cuisines are represented. Various bars and restaurants in Souk Madinat serve alcohol, at high prices. Many of the restaurants in Souk Madinat offer a terrace with breathtaking views of the Burj Al Arab and the beautiful ornaments that can be found all over the Madinat complex. If you want to be sure of a place outside on the terrace, it is wise to reserve a few days in advance. Thanks to the presence of many restaurants, the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful view, Souk Madinat is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, especially in the evenings. If you want te make a dance you can visit one of the various clubs that can be found in the Madinat Jumeirah complex.
Abra Tour
Do you want to experience Madinat Jumeirah at it’s best? Then it’s recommended to take a Abra tour through the complex of Madinat Jumeirah with a traditional abra boat. This Abra Tour takes about 20 minutes and will sail through the entire complex of Madinat Jumeirah. The abra taxi will sail through the many channels that the complex is rich and you will be amazed by the size and beauty of the complex. During your trip, the captain of the abra will tell you the interesting facts about the complex and the different hotels.
The abra taxis depart from the central abra station which is opposite the Italian restaurant Tuscany. Tickets for the Abra Tour must be purchased in advance, the price of a ticket is 70 AED per person. How to get to Madinat Jumeirah
Souk Madinat is located in the Madinat Jumeirah complex where, in addition to a shopping center, you can also find a few luxury hotels and many restaurants.
Madinat Jumeirah is located next to the Burj al Arab and is therefore easy to find. Souk Madinat has its own entrance which is open to everyone.
The entrance or exit at the hotels are only accessible for the guests of the hotel.
If you travel by your own transport to Souk Madinat you can park in the parking garage of Souk Madinat which is located underneath the complex. Keep in mind that the number of parking spaces in the parking garage is limited, especially on public holidays and on Friday (evening) it can be difficult to find a free parking space.
We recommend that you take a taxi to Souk Madinat or by bus that stops near the entrance of Souk Madinat / Mina A’Salam Hotel (bus stop Madinat Jumeira or Burj Al Arab Hotel). You can also choose to travel by metro, the best way to stop at the Mall of the Emirates and take a taxi from there to the Madinat Jumeirah complex. This costs about 14 dirhams, the price depends on which side of the shopping center you take the taxi.
