In Downtown Dubai, right next to the Dubai mall is the small shopping center Souk Al Bahar. This beautiful shopping center was built entirely in the traditional neo-Arab style.
Souk al Bahar is a populair location to shop because of the local products that can be found in the shopping mall. This shopping mall is also called the ’sailor’s market’ and when you visit the souk it feels like you go back in time to the ancient Arabia. Souk al Bahar is situated in the living heart of the center of Dubai and is enchanting.
This Piece al Bahar offers residents and tourists a special experience of shopping, dining and entertainment. You will see small boutiques full of local clothing, delicacies, handicrafts, eclectic jewellery, culturally-inspired fashion, heady perfumes, as well as furnishings, books, traditional souvenirs, art and more. There is more than enough to see in one of the 100 shops that this mall counts.
Diner in the Souk al Bahar
Also for a diner, the Souk al Bahar is an ideal location to spend the evening. The mall has 22 restaurants and cafes with dishes from all over the world including Italian, Lebanese, Japanese and Chinese.
Thanks to the location of Souk al Bahar right on the water of Burj Lake and the fountains of the Dubai Fountain, many restaurants offer a magnificent view of the fountain show which can be admired every evening from 6 pm onwards. Also from the many terraces of the restaurants you have a beautiful view of the illuminated Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Highly recommended and one of our favorite restaurant in Souk Al Bahar is the Lebanese restaurant Abd El Wahab.
Opening hours
Souk Al Bahar is open daily from 10 a.m. in the morning until 10 a.m. On Friday, the shopping center has adjusted opening times in connection with the Friday prayer, on this day the shopping center opens at 14:00. The restaurants of the shopping center have different opening hours, usually open until midnight.
