The Mall of the Emirates shoppingmall in Dubai is one of the largest shopping centers in the world thanks to its 600,000 square meters of retail space. The shopping center is one of the favorite places to shop for both locals and tourists. This is partly due to the ideal location of the shopping center right next to the busy motorway and next to the red line of the Dubai Metro.
Stores in the mall
Spread over four floors there are more than 500 stores in the Mall of the Emirates with international brands in fashion, lifestyle, electronics and home furnishings. Besides the stores you can find around 100 restaurants & cafes in the mall. Al lot of the famous international chains and fashion brands can be found in the shopping center, such as Virgin Megastore, Vero Moda, DKNY, Harvey Nichols and Debenhams. In addition, you will also find enough less well-known shops in the Mall of the Emirates.
Besides shopping and eating, there are even more ways to spend your free time at the Mall of the Emirates. How about the largest indoor ski hall in the world, Ski Dubai? In Ski Dubai you will also find a snow fun park and you can cuddle and take a picture with the colony of penguins living here. For the children there is Magic Planet where they can play and play. Just grab a video in the VOX cinema (films are subtitled in English) or go to a theater show in DUCTAC. There are also two luxury five-star hotels of Kempinski Hotel and The Pullman Hotel in the shopping center and on the ground floor there is a huge Carrefour supermarket where you can go for your daily groceries.
Are you a fan of expensive cars? Then the shopping center has another attraction, the valet parking at the main entrance. A large number of exclusive sports cars are parked here, especially in the evenings.
Ski Dubai
Skiing while it is above 40 degrees outside? It seems impossible, but not in Dubai! Throughout the year you can ski or snowboard in the largest indoor ski hall in the world, Ski Dubai which located in the Mall of the Emirates. It is not necessary to bring your own material or winter coats, everything is for rent at Ski Dubai.
The 22,500 square meter covered indoor ski resort accommodates 5 pistes, a chairlift and a 3000 m2 fun park. The longest track has a length of no less than 400 meters and has a height difference of 60 meters. There is also a black run with a gradient of 35 degrees. For the lesser or less experienced skiers or snowboarders, special introductory lessons can be booked explaining the basis of skiing or snowboarding.
Opening hours Mall of the Emirates
Because the Mall of the Emirates has different parts such as Ski Dubai, the VOX cinema and Magic Planet there are different opening times. Please note that during the Ramadan there may be different opening times. Below, all opening times are arranged in a row.
- The shops are open 7 days a week from 10:00 AM until midnight, with the exception of Thursday and Friday, then the stores are open until 1 o’clock at night
- The restaurants in the shopping center are open daily from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM. They are open until midnight on Thursdays and Fridays.
- The Vox Cinemas cinema is open daily from 10:00 AM until 1:00 AM
- The Carrefour supermarket on the ground floor of the shopping mall is open daily from 10 a.m. until 1:00 AM.
- Ski Dubai is open daily from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM. On Thursday and Friday the indoor ski slope is open until midnight.
- Magic Planet is open daily from 9:30 AM until 10:00 PM On Thursday and Friday the play paradise is open from 10:00 AM to 00:00.
How to get to the Mall of the Emirates
The Mall of the Emirates can be reached in many ways. The easiest way is to travel with the Dubai metro (red line) to the Mall of the Emirates. The shopping center has its own metro station (Mall of the Emirates station) which is connected to the shopping center via a footbridge. From the metro station you can walk into the shopping center within a couple minutes.
You can also travel to the Mall of the Emirates by taxi or with your own (rental) car. There is a special taxi stand at the front of the shopping center. If you instructed the taxi driver to drop you off at the Mall of the Emirates you will be taken to this place. If you are finish with shopping and want a taxi you can go to the taxi stand in front of the mall, there are always a few taxis waiting for customers. At busy times, you may have to wait a few minutes in line before it is your turn.
If you want to go to the Mall of the Emirates by car, it’s best to take the Sheikh Zayed Road, the shopping center is located at Interchange 4. Parking is possible in the private parking garage of the shopping center which has a capacity of more than 7500 cars. If you park for less than four hours, parking is free.
