Besided the amazing fountain show of the Dubai Fountain there is another fountain show in Dubai that is definitely worth a visit, the IMAGINE show at the Dubai Festival shopping center. Because the Dubai Fountain at the Burj Khalifa is one of the most visited attractions in Dubai, the IMAGINE show is a lot less known to tourists. And that is strange, since the IMAGINE show is just as spectacular as the one at the Dubai Fountain. The IMAGINE shows can be seen on the water at the Bay Area of the Festival City Mall. The shows combine light, water, fire, sound and lasers, resulting in a record-breaking show that you will not forget. Just like the shows at the Dubai Fountain, the IMAGINE shows can be visited for free.
You can easily combine a visit to the IMAGINE show with a visit to the Festival City shopping center. For example, you can first go shopping at the mall, then eat at one of the restaurants such as the world-famous Hard Rock Cafe and then watch one or more IMAGINE shows. If you choose a restaurant with a terrace on the Bay Area you can even watch an IMAGINE show from your table.
The Imagine show is a world record breaking show
Thanks to the unique character of the show and the special technology behind it, state-of-the-art shows from IMAGINE managed to win two world records. The show is in the Guinness Book of World Records with the record for the largest projection screen in the world and with the record for the largest water screen projection in the world.
The IMAGINE show is made possible by 30 high-tech dancing fountains on which HD images are projected on 360-degree water screens via a number of projectors. The high-tech video mapping projectors can project millions of colors, ensuring sharp and colorful images. The images are supported in spectacular fashion by lights, lasers, fire and music. This combination of water, light and sound makes the IMAGINE show a one of a kind and can therefore not be admired anywhere else in the world.
Six different IMAGINE shows
On weekdays there are six IMAGINE shows to admire and in the weekend even eight shows on one evening. In total, three different Imagine Show’s are shown every evening, each with their own unique design and theme. All shows can be viewed for free, you do not need a ticket to admire the crazy shows at the Dubai Festival Mall.
The shows last about 10 minutes and can be seen on the water where fountains create a kind of mist / wall of water on which the images are projected. The show is combined with lights and sounds and the adjacent InterContinental Dubai – Festival City hotel is used as the world’s largest projection screen.
The shows start at half past seven in the evening and depending on the day, the last show can be admired at half past ten or eleven. The shows can be seen every half an hour on the waterfront promenade at the Festival City shopping center. Below is indicated per show on which days and times the shows can be viewed.

Where can I find the IMAGINE laser & light show in Dubai?
The Festival City shopping center is located just outside the tourist area of Dubai, making it difficult to reach by metro. It is possible to travel by metro to the Dubai Healthcare City station, Al Jadaf station or the Creek station and from there take a taxi to Dubai Festival City.
The three metro stations are on the green line and are the last three stations on this metro line. From one of these stations it is still about 5 to 10 minutes by taxi, depending on where you pick up the taxi and the traffic. The Dubai Healthcare City metro station is the farthest away from Festival City, giving it the longest travel time.
Of course you can also take a taxi from your hotel or other place in Dubai to travel to the Festival City shopping mall. This is slightly more expensive than traveling the largest part by metro, unless you are with +/- four or more people. The mall and the restaurants in and around the mall are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to midnight.
