Global Village is the largest seasonal cultural entertainment and shopping event in the region. There is something to experience for all ages. Global village attracts a lot of visitors to Dubai every year. The event traditionally opens its doors at the end of October / beginning of November and is open for circa 5 months. At the end of March/ the beginning of April, the doors of Global Village will close again as the temperatures in Dubai climb to 40 degrees again.
For the winter season 2020/2021, Global Village will open for the first time in October 2020 and the event can be visited until April 2021. You can visit a large number of country pavilions every day in Global Village, taste dishes from around the world, shop for local products, visit a many attractions and attend many different performances and shows by local stars.
Pavilions at Global Village
Annually there are circa 75 different countries in the countries section of Global Village. De countries are spread over 30 different pavilions. The American pavilion is again represented with both North and South America. The countries Canada, Argentina and Brazil can also be found in this pavilion. Next to these countries, you will also find pavilions from, Turkey, Jordan, Indonesia, South Korea, Algeria, Thailand, France, Germany, Egypt, Japan, Russia, Qatar and an Eastern Europe pavilion including Ukraine, Romania and Serbia. The largest pavilion is that of India, in total you will find more than 300 different market stalls in this pavilion.
In addition to the country pavilion, there is plenty of other entertainment to be found in Global Village including special attractions. There is a Heritage Village where you can find out more about the history of the Middle East. There are a several sandcastles to admire. You can look up the tension in the 3D Haunted House or watch moving dinosaurs in Animal Land.
This year, Fantasy Island will once again be present with attractions, including the 58-meter-high Ferris Wheel “Wheel of the World”, a circus and a large number of attractions. In the six months that Global Village is open, 12,000 shows are given, including 20 concerts by famous Arab and Asian artists. Anyone who has had enough of all the attractions and country pavilions can relax in one of the 150 restaurants, cafes and kiosks in Global Village. Almost every kitchen in the world is present with its own stand, so plenty of choice!
Global Village fireworks show & events
Every Thursday at 10 PM and Friday at 10:30 PM there is a firework show above Global Village. The tolerance parade can be admired every Monday evening around 7:15 PM. Monday is also the Family day. (Means: only women and children) Various large shows and concerts take place on different podiums of Global Village on a daily basis. Even for children there is a special children’s theatre. The concerts on the grounds of Global Village in Dubai are mainly given by local stars such as Mohamed AlShehhi and Red Baraat. Opening hours Global Village
Global Village is open from October 2020 till April 2021. From Saturday to Wednesday, Global Village is open from 4:00 pm to midnight.
The last entry is possible until 11:30 pm. Thursdays and Fridays and during public holidays, the park is open from 4 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The last entrance at 00.30 p.m. Monday it is family day, with the exception of the holidays, and only women and children are allowed inside.
Global Village is located on Exit 37 of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and the Emirates Road. Parking is easy at one of the 17,000 parking spaces around the site.
There are also two RTA bus lines that go to Global Village. The first bus line (103) starts at the Union Station and the other bus line (104) starts at the Al Ghubaiba Station. The lines run between 3:15 pm and 11:15 pm and run every half hour.
Bus line 102 leaves every hour from the Rashidiya Metro Station in one go to the site of Global Village. Bus 106 leaves every hour from the Mall of the Emirates Station to Global Village.
