Dubai Fountain Boardwalk

You can now get closer than ever to the magical Dubai Fountain thanks to a new floating walkway. This newest attraction in Downtown Dubai gives you the chance to get up close and personal with the dancing fountain show. You will experience the largest fountain show in the world as if you were right there in the middle of it when the water jets are sprayed up to a height of 150 meters into the air just nine meters away from the platform.

The 272 meter long Boardwalk platform is located in the Burj Lake and runs from the Burj Park towards the Dubai Mall. The floating walkway is open daily from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Admission to the Boardwalk section of the Dubai Fountain costs 5 US Dollar per person. Children under 4 years old can travel for free when accompanied by a paying adult. Tip for you, bring a poncho because there is a good chance that you will get wet from the splashing water if you are so close to the fountain show.

Next to the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall you can find the spectacular Dubai Fountain. This show is officially the largest and most expensive fountain show in the world and is one of the most popular attractions in Dubai. The fountain can spray up to 83,000 liters of water at a time, reaching heights of up to 150 meters, which is equivalent to a 50-storey building. The fountain has a length of 275 meters (2 football fields), has a total of 6600 lamps and 25 color projectors that provide a breathtaking spectacle. The entire project, including the construction of the 12 hectare Burj Dubai Lake, cost 800 million Dirham, equivalent to approximately 150 million US dollar.

Every evening from 6 o’clock several fountain shows are shown, which start every 30 minutes. Various choreographies with music such as:
– “I will always love you” by Witney Houston
– “Thriller” by Michael Jackson
– “Con te partirò (Time to Say Goodbye)” by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman
– “The Prayer” by Celion Dion and Andrea Bocelli

And on top of that various Arabic songs like:
– Baba Yetu
– Sama Dubai
– Shik Shak Shok

New songs are regularly added to the repertoire to replace older songs so that the offering is various. The first and last fountain show are accompanied by the song Sama Dubai, which was specially written for the leader of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

You can watch the spectacle almost every part of the lake. In some places you will meet a refreshing breeze with light mist that can be very pleasant in the warmer days Dubai has. If you want absolutely no refreshing mist over you, take a look at the wind direction in advance. Please note that during high season from October to early April, it may be very busy on the Dubai Mall promenade where most people getting together to watch the fountain show. The busiest evenings are from Thursday to Saturday, these are the days that people have weekend in Dubai.

Dubai Fountain Lake Ride

Is nine meters too close for you and you don’t want to get wet? Then the Dubai Fountain Lake Ride is a nice attraction for you. Sail with a traditional abra boat on the Dubai Fountain during the fountain show.

The tickets for the Dubai Fountain Lake Ride cost 17 euros per person. The tickets are available at the ticket office at the Waterfront Promenade in front of the Dubai Mall, at the counter of the Burj Khalifa At the Top at the Dubai Mall or tickets can be reserved online at the Tiqets.com website. Online reservations are recommended because this way you can be sure that you can take the boat trip on the day and time you want.
